QUESTION:

How many gold medals did China win in the Sydney 2000 Olympic games?

a) 26
b) 27
c) 28
d) 29
e) 999

ANSWERS:
A) Come on, it's much more than that. But isn't that the exact number of votes that the US president won by?

B) NO, but that is the number of Kangaroo "Jozi" dumplings that were eaten at the games!

C) You get the gold medal in the trivia event! Correct, China earned 28 gold, 16 silver, and 15 bronze medals at the 2000 Olympics. This put China in third place over all, next to Russia and the USA. China was in second place for the first two-thirds of the games, however the later events favored Russia athletes. These results are consistent with China's recent trend of onward and upward. Of course most of the medals were still won by females--this just proves you can't defeat Chinese women.

D) Maybe next time, but kudos for being overly patriotic! Sort of like a goalie that knows he is going to miss the ball - he might as well dive and over do it! Try again.

e) Wrong, but that is how many China will win at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, especially if "Da Shan" is a judge.
