Shishi
Sacred Heart Cathedral
Situated at Yide Road in downtown Guangzhou, Shishi
Sacred Heart Cathedral is the most magnificent and distinctive
cathedral in Archidioecesis Coamceuvensis. It took 25
years to build the Gothic cathedral during the late
Qing Dynasty. Shishi, which means stone-made chamber,
comes from the granite which built all the walls and
pillars of the Cathedral. Opening time: 8am-5:30pm.
Free opening: 7am-10am in Sunday. Weekday Masses: 6:30am;
7:00am (Cantonese). Saturday Mass: 7:30am (Mandarin).
Sunday Masses: 6:30am; 8:30am (Cantonese); 10:30am (Mandarin);
3:30pm (English).
Bijiashan
Park
Occupying an area of 140 hectare, Bijiashan Park is
located in the north of downtown Shenzhen with dozens
of hills. With three highest peaks forms the shape of
a penholder, it gets the name of Bijiashan. The dominant
peak is 178 meters high; you can not only see the highest
building of Shenzhen-Diwang Tower here, but can overlook
the scenery of Shenzhen Bay, Shekou, and Sheung Shui
and Yuen Long of Hong Kong. The Park has more than 1,000
plant species and over 560 animal species. Lawn bowls,
the 400-year history program from the UK, is another
feature of the park.
